IMPORTANT: Before you can access the USB Storage connected to your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, make sure to configure the Folder Access settings of your router to successfully share files within a network. NOTE: To disable the Enable FTP Server feature, just toggle the button to OFF. Toggle the Enable FTP Server to the ON position. NOTE: USB Storage is displayed as External Storage on the latest Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers. On the Linksys cloud account home page, click on the USB Storage under Smart Wi-Fi Tools. All you need to do is enable this feature on your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Router, and you will be able to access your files wherever you go as long as you are connected to the Internet. Using FTP is a convenient way to access your files, may it be document or media files, whenever you are outside of your home network. Follow the instructions below on how to enable this feature using the Linksys cloud account. The USB Storage Tool on the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi will enable you to access your files via FTP. If this feature is enabled, you will be able to access your USB Storage files from outside your network. You meet all requirements in the " To get started, you need" section.File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard protocol for sending files between computers over a TCP/IP network and the Internet.Your points are all plugged in and connected to the same Wi-Fi network.Once you've added all your Wifi devices, the app performs a mesh test to confirm everything works.If you'd like to add another point, tap Yes in the app when prompted, or repeat these steps at a later time for additional points.Follow the in-app instructions to finish setup.Note: For Nest Wifi points, when you get a sound from your speaker, tap Yes.If you have multiple devices available for setup, select the device you'd like to set up as a point Next. Once you've decided where to place your point and have plugged it in, use the Home app for setup. All additional Wifi devices are considered points in the mesh network. Google Wifi and Nest Wifi devices can be added anytime to your network. If you'd like to add another Wifi device, tap Yes in the app to continue or follow the steps below to add a point at a later time.The router should now create your Wi-Fi network.Continue through the app to complete setup.Select a room for your router or create a new one.Give your Wi-Fi network a name and secure password.If you're unable to scan the QR code, tap Continue without scanning, then enter the setup key on the bottom of your device.Hold your phone about 5 in (12 cm) away to scan.Scan the QR code on the bottom of your device.If you have multiple devices available for setup, select your primary Wifi point. The app should find your Google Wifi device.On your phone or tablet, open the Home app.The pulsing blue light indicates it's ready to be set up in the Home app. Wait 90 seconds for the light to slowly pulse blue.Plug your primary Wifi point into a wall outlet.Then, connect the other end of the cable to your modem. Connect the Ethernet cable to your Google Wifi point's WAN port.Learn more about where to place your Google Wifi devices.For the strongest signal, place your primary Wifi point at eye level, in plain view, like on a shelf or TV stand.Your primary Wifi point needs to be connected to a working modem that's connected to the Internet.
